As the 8th generation serving the family farm, john is proud to run the 1500 acre farm with his family by his side. He is a graduate of the Pennsylvania State University, class of 1975, with an associates of agriculture degree. upon graduation, he became a partner with his father, george, and his brother, Jim. in 1980, he wed donna cruzan and later welcomed 3 boys to their family: john jr., george & Kevin. john serves the community in many ways as the former mayor of upper pittsgrove township, current land use board chairman, harvest community bank board of directors, president of the pole tavern ruritan and preseident of the nj cultivated sod association. He is also a member of NJ White potato council and Board member of turfgrass producers international.

john is a 2005 graduate of delaware valley college with an agronomy degree and a minor in agribusiness. he followed his dream to join the family farm full time and has since assumed the role of farm manager and spends much of his time custom fabricating equipment for various crops. his agronomic interests lead to the start of their fertilizer facility, leased to helena chemical company. he is an active member of the ag community serving on the salem county board of agriculture and former officer in the alpha gamma rho beta si chapter alumni board. he can often be found working alongside his own sons, lee (5) and sam (3) teaching them the ways of the farm. in 2007, he married his high school sweetheart, mary colson, who runs a floral design business (A Garden party) at the farm.

proud graduate of penn state's acclaimed turf grass science program (class of 2012), kevin is the 3rd partner of Coombs sod farms. kevin spends much of his time and energy producing the bent grass crop and his psu connections have been helpful in marketing the sod. he is also in charge of the chemical applications for the 1500 acres, helping out wherever there is a need. Kevin and his wife, Cristina, live together on the farm with their 4 year old son, ryan, and baby boy #2 soon to arrive.

raised on nearby potato farm (cruzandale farms), she married john in 1980. while raising her 3 sons, she helped john on the farm in many different capacities. currently, donna serves as the office manager, keeping track of all the financials. when she isn't in the office, she can be found entertaining her 3 active grandsons (lee, sam & ryan). When her father retired from farming full time in 2012, cruzandale farms (700 acres of land and equipment) is now farmed by coombs sod farms with a rental agreement.
